Currently, AlphaTakeoff AI tool is great for getting fast takeoffs from HVAC plans to capture GRD, VAV, FCU, Dampers, Louvers and other equipment. The resulting takeoff spreadsheet includes the Quantity plus the information listed in the schedules. A copy of the plans you upload is also provided that is color-coded with the spreadsheet line items to make it fast and easy to locate equipment.

Are Plans I Upload Shared with Others?
No. Any PDF plans you upload and the takeoff results are not shared with others. You have full control to upload, get takeoffs, and delete plans when desired. There is a user-friendly screen that lists the plans uploaded and the takeoff results.
Are the takeoffs 100% accurate?
The takeoff accuracy depends upon the tags and symbols used in the plans and if the symbols are in the AI library. AlphaTakeoff reads the equipment schedules and comes pre-configured with common building industry symbols. All equipment AlphaTakeoff recognizes will be color-coded on the plan to verify it was included in the quantity takeoff. If there is equipment that was not scheduled, AlphaTakeoff will not include it in the takeoff and the plans will not color-code it so the estimator will not to be included in the takeoff spreadsheet. It is fast to scan the plan to see if AI missed anything.
How fast is the takeoff?
Each PDF sheet that is selected for a takeoff takes a few minutes depending upon the complexity of the sheet and the number of different product types there are on each sheet. So for a set of plans that has 10 sheets selected for takeoffs, it may take 10 - 20 minutes verses a couple of hours to do the takeoff manually and accurately. You can be doing other things on your computer while the takeoff is being done. This makes you more efficient and reduces tedious work.
